UTV in the Smokies

Springtime in the Smoky Mountains

The Smoky Mountains in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg Tennessee are some of the most beautiful sights you will ever see.  The mountains are commonly referred to as the Smokies.  The local baseball team is even name the Tennessee Smokies!  Some people may not know that Smokies are located within the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.  There is no better place to ride a high performance UTV like Honda Talon side by side rental.  And there is no better time than Springtime in the Smokies!

Where to go in the Smokies

Mount Leconte Side by Side rentals

Once you arrive in Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge, you may wonder where to go in the Smokies.  The park is massive with dozens of great locations to see. A Honda Talon side by side rental is a great way to traverse the park. One of the first places many travelers want to see is the highest point.  The top elevation in Tennessee is at Clingman’s Dome near the North Carolina border.  Clingman’s Dome towers at over 6600 feet tall.  To get there, you will need to head south from Bearly Legal Street Rides on the Parkway in Pigeon Forge.  Rent a RZR and make your way to see the glorious peak of the Smokies.

Mount Le Conte is a beautiful mountain visible from Gatlinburg Tennessee.  At over 6000 feet of elevation and only 50 feet shorter than Clingman’s, this is a can’t miss view.  Once you enter downtown Gatlinburg, the range will be on left if you enter town from Pigeon

Forge.  The LeConte Lodge at the top of the mountain may be the most unique place to stay in the Sevier County area.  Visit one of the tallest mountains in the eastern United States by renting one of our unique four seater side by side vehicles such as the incredible Honda Talon.  Rent a Honda Talon today. There are numerous locations that you can see LeConte during Springtime in the Smokies.

Traveling to Cades Cove

Cades Cove is one of the most popular tourists attractions in the area and for good reason.  There are mountains surrounding you on each and every side as you hit this historic site.  See the simpler life by going back in time with the preserved churches or homes from more than a century ago.  Some of the historic locations you can see are John Oliver’s cabin, The Primitive Baptist Church built in the 1800s, and The John Gable Grist Mill.  One of the best times to see the old cabins is in Springtime in the Smokies.

If that wasn’t enough,  see one of the top areas for spotting wildlife.  The Smokies are home to one of the largest bases of black bears in the United States.  It is not uncommon to see a solo bear or a family of bears in the park as you drive through the area.  Black bears are wonderful, extra cute creatures.  It is important to maintain your distance on foot or in one of our Polaris RZRs or Honda Talons.  Turkeys can be seen typically out in the distance in groups of three or four.  Deer are usually by themselves but can be spotted in smaller groups of 2 and 3.  Keep an eye out for these guys to dart across the road without warning.  As you enter the park you will usually see several horses on your left.  During most of the year, guided tours of Cades Cove can be done for a fee.

Side by Side Rentals in Cades Cove

Finally, if the amazing wild life didn’t check off all of your boxes, then you may want to visit some of the amazing hiking trails available throughout the cove.  Abrams Falls trail is one of the most popular hikes in Cades Cove.  At approximately 5 miles, the hike features one of the most stunning waterfalls in all of the Appalachian Mountains.   The Thunderhead Trail is another great hike.  This one can be quite difficult for beginner hikers so be sure you have the supplies, time, and skill to conquer this path.  If you do, you will be rewarded with several fantastic views.

What’s the best way to experience Cade’s Cove?  The best way is in a clean Bearly Legal Street Ride’s Honda Talon side by side rental four seater or any other of our rides.  Our side by side rentals or sometimes called UTV vehicles give a unique view of the 11 mile natural attraction through the design of our vehicles.  Cades Cove is fantastic all year, but no other time compares to the Springtime in the Smokies.  Each allows for extended views of the mountains and Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg in general.  Bearly Legal Street Rides has vehicles available 7 days a week.  Be sure to check out the Great Smoky Mountain National Park Website for availability of Cades Cove with vehicles before planning a trip.

Attractions in Pigeon Forge

Pigeon Forge TN BLSR

There are numerous attractions across Sevier County.  Pigeon Forge is home to some of the most unique and fun places to go in East Tennessee.  From the time you enter Kodak off of Interstate 40 (I40), you are immediately hit with “things to do”.

There are several interesting attractions to hit.  First, start with Bearly Legal Street Rides by Anna Mae’s Vapery.  Can-Am can take you to each of these attractions in style.  This powerful UTV will turn heads as you hit the Parkway.

Right across the street from BLSR is the Hollywood Wax Museum.  The museum is a fun attraction with Hollywood’s top actors and actresses.  The detail of the exhibits is incredible and makes for excellent Instagram material.

Attractions to visit in your side by side rental

Down the road in Sevierville is Nascar Speedpark.  The park features multiple go cart race tracks.  There are slower and less difficult tracks and more advanced for the hardcore racer.  There are also a few amusement park rides to keep the non-racer happy.  Inside you can find arcade games, a rock climbing wall, good food, and lots more.

Wonderworks is a weird and fun experience for the whole family.  The upside down house as it is often referred to features arcade games, science experiments, a ropes course and more.  Your BLSR Talon will look fantastic in front of the strange house.

Across the street from Wonderworks in Beyond the Lens with a similar concept.  Additionally, BTL is an under rated location that is a ton of fun.  Look for the big camera.

Back across the street is Titanic Museum with dozens of historical items right from the maiden voyage of the ship.  This is more of a late teen to adult trip but well worth the visit.  Be sure to snap a photo of the RZR you rented in front of the big ship.
